Rob is a Venture Partner of Thomas Weisel Venture Partners. He joined TWVP in 2000 and currently focuses on investments in software and wireless companies. While at TWVP, Rob has been involved with the firm's investments in Aligo (acquired by Corrigo), Application Security, Arbor Networks, AutoCell Laboratories, BigFix, Control4 Technologies, Exit41, Medsphere, Pivia (acquired by Swan Labs, then F5) and Vocera Communications.
Prior to joining TWVP, Rob was a Vice President in the Software Investment Banking Group at Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco, where he worked with both public and private companies on private and public financings and acquisitions. Rob started his investment banking career at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities in the Technology Investment Banking group. Rob's former investment banking clients include Broadbase, Cymer, Media Metrix, Preview Travel (Travelocity), Real Networks, Siebel Systems and Starmedia. Rob has prior work experience in corporate law at Dewey Ballantine and marketing at Grey Advertising.
Rob holds a JD and MBA from Duke University, and a BA from Amherst College. He is a member of the California State Bar Association. When he’s not working, Rob can be found surfing in northern California’s chilly coastal waters.
