Ido is a Venture Partner with Thomas Weisel Venture Partners. Ido focuses on enterprise and infrastructure software, and is responsible for identifying new investment opportunities in those areas. Additionally, Ido is involved in assisting TWVP's existing portfolio to capitalize on business strategies. While at TWVP, Ido has been involved in the firm’s investments in Aligo (acquired by Corrigo), Netuitive and Senforce.
Prior to TWVP, Ido was Vice President of technology strategy for Mercury. During his tenure at Mercury, he was responsible for formulating the company's technology roadmap, and searching for and evaluating new technologies and business opportunities for Mercury. Ido joined Mercury in 1990 as a software engineer and held various management and executive positions at the company over the past ten years. Previous positions include posts in the United States, Europe and Israel, including Vice President of product marketing for the APM business unit, Director of Strategic Alliances and Director of European marketing. As Vice President of product marketing for the APM business unit, Ido successfully launched Topaz®, the first APM solution for real-time monitoring of a user’s experience on the Web. Under his leadership and direction, Mercury acquired Kintana, Appilog, Performant and Allerez. Prior to joining Mercury, he was a software engineer at Daisy Systems.
Ido currently sits on a number of advisory boards including Confluent Software (acquired by Oblix), Business Signatures, and Leverage Software. Ido has been a well-received speaker in venues such as STAR, EuroSTAR, Software Quality Europe, International Motif/CDE Users Conference, Serena’s Xchange User’s Conference, and SAPPHIRE, among many others.
Ido holds an MBA, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel Aviv University. He earned his BS, Cum Laude, in Computer Engineering from the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology. In his free time, Ido enjoys spending time with his two daughters, as well as playing basketball, reading and biking.
