TWVP is a $255 million early stage venture capital fund that invests in information technology companies. The Fund derives its capital from traditional institutional investors. TWVP is managed by partners Dave Crowder and Andy Sessions, and a team of investment professionals and technology executives.

The Fund targets initial equity investments of $2 million to $10 million in a range of venture investment stages, and seeks to be the lead investor. The TWVP team is actively involved in building and strengthening its portfolio companies, and has a demonstrated ability to add value to its current portfolio.
The Fund invests in emerging information technology companies, particularly in the broadly-defined software and communications industries. In working with portfolio companies and analyzing new investment opportunities in these related industries, TWVP often develops opinions about new technologies and markets that could represent attractive investment opportunities for the Fund. Specific industries that TWVP focuses on include infrastructure and application software (including open source), security, semiconductors, communications, storage, wireless technologies and Internet services. The collective industry experience of the TWVP investment team helps talented entrepreneurs turn innovative ideas into high-growth companies.
TWVP helps companies build enduring businesses and we view ourselves as partners, not just investors. By actively serving on the boards of directors, TWVP provides support to portfolio companies by assisting management in building their teams, refining the company's strategic direction, helping identify business problems or solutions, providing a network of industry contacts and assisting in fundraising efforts. The Fund's success is measured by the success of its entrepreneurs.
TWVP is affiliated with Thomas Weisel Partners ("TWP"), a merchant bank focused exclusively on the growth sectors of the economy. TWP's value-added Research, Institutional Brokerage and Investment Banking groups focus on servicing the nation's top institutional investors and emerging growth companies.

"Thomas Weisel Venture Partners are far more than investors in Reactrix, they are partners in the true sense of the word. They have made themselves experts in our market, and have helped us take the two distinctly different aspects of our business, media and technology, and bring them together to create an effective symbiotic whole. While Dave Crowder, the partner who serves on our board, has become a trusted advisor and confidant, the entire TWVP team is an extension of the Reactrix family. I would recommend TWVP to any entrepreneur who wants more than just an investor, but instead a team of dedicated professionals who will roll-up their sleeves and do whatever they can to help make their portfolio companies successful."

“Thomas Weisel Venture Partners has been an outstanding partner to W5. In addition to the Board representation, we have had access to, and contributions from, many members of the TWVP organization. This access has proven to be a valuable extension of our team.”

"When TWVP first invested, my expectations were high that they would be smart money. Almost one year later, it is clear that my expectations were incomplete. TWVP is certainly smart money, but it would be more accurate to describe them as a smart partner. They have been dedicated to the progress and success of Control4 and are constantly helping us find opportunities and solutions. The quality doesn't stop at the partner that serves on our board, Andy Sessions. Every member of the TWVP team is a quality individual and a valuable resource for our company."
